Netball Club
The girls have made excellent progress over the last few weeks and are really enjoying themselves.
Club will be on after half term but only for a week or two due to the clocks going back. I’ll keep the girls informed.
Well done girls, Mrs Lawrenson and I have really enjoyed working with you.
Comments
Well done to all of the Y6 pupils who have already made comments. Mr Rafferty, Mrs Roberts and Miss Gibson are really pleased with your efforts. Keep it up!!
Please send any suggestions for other items we can include next half term.
Year 6 Award
Well done to Tom who won this week’s award. He was one of the pupils nominated by another member of staff. He sensibly collected data for his graph work and showed excellent manners when visiting her classroom. Congratulations
A reminder to Michael and Casey.
Well the score 1-0 seems to be quite important this week. I think Arsenal were beaten by that score and Liverpool won by that score.
Year 6 Award
Congratulations to Jack, this week’s winner who was nominated for his drama performance.
Walk To School Week
Well done to everyone who has tried to walk all or part of the way to school this week especially as the weather has been dreadful at times.
Book Week
Year 6 have enjoyed talking about their favourite books and have watched some video clips this week. We also voted for our favourite literary villain – Lord Voldemord gained first place just as he did in a recent national survey. Other characters mentioned by Year 6 were Darth Vader, Miss Trunchbull, Count Olaf and The BBW (Big Bad Wolf).
On Wednesday the drama session was a lovely end to the day. Sarah from Helen O’Grady Workshops gave us the opportunity to make lots of noise and have fun. After warm-up activities we did a restaurant scene. Waiters, waitresses, a manager, a band and customers took to the stage as the scene was acted out. Everyone was brilliant but special mention must go to Jack. As lead singer of the band he performed a solo with great enthusiasm.

Poetry Competition
Well done to all of Year 6 for creating some lovely poems. Some children worked together. We had great difficulty in choosing the winners. Five poems were read out in the Harvest Service by Celina, Laura & Nicole, Tom & Casey, Danielle & Abbie and Thomas.
Congratulations to Celina who was our overall winner. We hope you enjoy reading her poem.
Autumn
Many leaves all around
Flying up and falling down
Autumn crops look really nice
And some of them are made into rice
Â
Also in Autumn there’s halloween
With scary pumpkins that make people scream
Hedgehogs and squirrels sleep for long
Whilst the birds are singing lovely songs
Â
The sycamores come swirling down
Without making any sound
Autumn is the time of year
When winter is very near
