Year 6 Cup

The boys played their first match of the season last night against St. Andrew’s. After a closely fought game the final score was 2 - 2. As it was bitterly cold and the light was going it was decided to have a replay rather than extra-time. Good Luck for after half-term boys.

Football that’s all I could think about all day.
When the time came it was an early goal for St Andrews, but then I passed the ball to Daniel and he scored a great goal!!!!
Oliver scored but then St Andrews got another goal. So that was the final score 2-2 well done!!!

John & T.P’s Report
When the first goal went in in the first 10 seconds we thought we were going to get battered.
Luckily Danny and Oli scored two world class goals - we thought we had won!!
But in the last minutes my mate Will scored and the match ended 2-2.

Good Game St. Andy’s!!!

Tom R’s Report
Yesterday, It was the first game of the season for the Y6 boys team. I was very nervous because it was my first ever competitive game. It was a must win cup game, which did not help my nerves! When we kicked off, (I was still very nervous) their number 10 literally WALKED through the defence, passed it to their number 5 who comfortably finished off a very good move for them, probably only seconds from kick off. About five minutes later, Danny H in Y5 scored a brilliant goal from a long way out to level the scores 1-1. After finishing the half all square, we kicked off to begin the second half and within a few minutes we were ahead, through a brilliant run and cut in from Oliver L. It was a great feeling! But sadly the lead didn’t last long, their number 10, who had hit the bar towards the end of the second half scored to end the game 2-2.

It was a great game, I think we would of won if we had played extra time. I’m sure we’ll win.

Structured Lunchtime Play

Before Christmas Year 6 pupils participated in training to become ‘Young Leaders’. They are now working in groups to help reception and year 1 children, during some lunchtimes, to develop skills and play games.
Well done! Year 6, the younger children really seem to be enjoying themselves.
Please take a look at the information board in the hall for further details.

Celina’s Comment
I have done structured play twice and both times the children have been wonderful. I have found out that the reception children love roll tag. I am looking forward to doing it again.

Kendra’s Comment
I really enjoy doing structured play with the little children. I am in one of the first groups to do it and it was FAB!!! Sometimes though its quite hard to find the children as they are still eating their dinner.
