Hi…

Just wanted to say have a look at the Sports Section of the blog if you get a minute. You’re famous!!

If anyone has had a chance to write a match report then email it to me and I will post it on the blog.

Well done again for a fantastic achievement last week - I’m really proud of you.

Christmas Competition

All of the children have produced excellent pictures and have been voting for their favourites. This week the staff are voting - watch this space for a list of winners.

Rory Award Winners

I spoke too soon as I’m still having problems so I am going to mention both winners together.

Last week’s winner of our award was Emily Mc - for her work in Maths -Congratulations and well done!

This week’s winner is Beth for some excellent Topic research and presentation of her information. It was an excellent read. Congratulations to her!

Who is going to win this week? I can’t wait to see!

Year 6 Update

As you have probably guessed we are still having problems with writing a blog. Mr Rafferty has just come to the rescue and entered the Year 6 blog by an alternative route. I know you are probably struggling to visualise Raff as a knight in shining armour - or me as a damsel in distress -but he is and we’d be lost without him (although Mr Leather is also very helpful).

Are you a writer?

If you are interested in writing stories and poems visit Alan Gibbon’s Blog. It’s great and has lots of good stuff in. Try it and see http://alangibbons.net/?page_id=18

Rory Award

Well done Molly on being this week’s winner. Your nomination was for your homework - you did extra tasks last week and should be proud of yourself. Congratulations.

OH NO!!!

Apologies that my last posts are slightly out of date. I know Mr Rafferty has informed you that we’ve been having problems putting information on our blog. No doubt the children have also told you that we’ve been unable to visit some of our favourite sites. Hopefully things are now sorted, however, I’m taking no risks and am going to try to publishing all our news.

Structured Lunchtime Play

We are really proud to announce that all of the children who completed the training were successful in their assessments and are now ‘Young Leaders’. Unfortunately a few of Year 6 missed some of the sessions so couldn’t be assessed, however, they will still carry out the activities with the younger children at lunchtime. Watch this space for when we’ll begin the sessions.
Mr Hewer, Miss Newham, the Welfare Staff and myself were extremely proud of all of the Year 6 pupils - they were brilliant!!!
A big thank you to all of the children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 who joined in.

Yeast Mania

This week as part of our science topic on Micro-organisms we have been carrying out investigations involving yeast. We’ve had lots of fun!!!
The expanding balloons proved that yeast gives off a gas when mixed with warm water and sugar.
Today we made bread - our small buns grew in size and tasted delicious. Well done and thank you to Mrs Roberts and Mrs Smith (one of our mums) for working with the children. Also thanks to Mrs Ocego for her help and advice - her suggested lemon icing was delicious. I enjoyed licking the bowl … only joking some of the class beat me to it!!!
Next task is to watch food going mouldy and decaying - all good stuff!!! I hope some of the children will be able to write some good comments on our activities this week - I feel Rory Award nominations could be available.
