Drama - Duncan is Murdered

Last Friday we participated in our second drama session with Helen. We talked about some of the characters we knew and introduced new ones. We talked about how ambitious Macbeth and Lady Macbeth were. In groups we acted out King Duncan’s murder.

Some comments from our budding stars -

We enjoy drama because it’s a fun education programme. Helen Jackson is really nice and supportive. If you get something wrong she won’t shout at you. We enjoyed the battle game. We learn so much in our drama lesson. We hope drama could go on for ever because it is excellent. It’s the best history and P.E. lesson we’ve ever had in the whole of school!
By Jack C and Kyle

I think drama is very good because I got to play Macbeth in the first lesson. I think the teacher is very nice, her name is Helen and she makes Drama really FUN.
I really enjoy drama. My favourite part was the battle in the first lesson and I never died because I was Macbeth.
My favourite part in the second lesson was the part where we were in groups of 4 and 5 . I was with Kyle , Sean R , Josh J and Sam. Over the past few weeks I have learned a great amount of drama and how to do it and I am very grateful to the school and our teacher Miss Gibson and to our Drama teacher Helen.

Dance

Week 4’s session was brilliant. We added another part to the dance based on Van Gogh chopping his ear off. What fun we had!!
The children have written some comments about the sessions.

I really like dance. I like the routine that we have to do and especially when we make up our own version of the dance. I also think it is funny when we have to chop each other up. I think Mrs Treanor is a good teacher and she makes it fun.
Anna

Every Thursday Mrs Treanor comes to school to do dance with us. We are doing a dance about art and a part about Vincent Van Gogh.
It is really fun and my favourite part is the Vincent Van Gogh dance. I love the music to the first part, it is really lively. This week we will bring in lots of brightly coloured clothes to go with the theme. I like it a lot.
Beth

Dance was really good, we made up a really good dance. We split up into sections and went to different people every time.Everybody started off in our sports day groups in unison.Brooke is in the yellow team and so is Sian.First we had a little part altogether, then got into groups and do the same but in a different direction.Next we split into new groups and we had to do things that went with the word paint. Finally we had to go into different groups and had to do a cutting section like the painter Vincent Van Gogh because he cut off his ear and give it to his girlfriend for a birthday present. We are always excited for the next Thursday!
By Brooke and Sian

We think dance is good because we do lots of movement and slides across the floor. Sometimes it becomes very funny in the Van Gogh bits when we do chopping movements.
Matthew and Connor

We really like dance because it is enjoyable and it keeps you fit and healthy. The theme of our dancing is Vincent Van Gogh who was an artist. Our favourite part is the chop sequence because we work with Kyle.
We got recorded by Mrs Treanor it was really heart stopping and scary. We like working in all different groups and different working styles of dance. The dance went really well with all the groups and their dancing.
By Michael and Sean R

We really enjoy dance and we think that the teacher is really good. We really like the bit where we chop each other up, it is funny and AWESOME DUDE. We also like the song that Mrs Treanor puts on for the warm up.
Penny is working with Brooke and Melissa. Megan C is working with Abbey, Megan D and Jack Gr.
We are really looking forward to next week because Mrs Treanor said that we can dress-up in bright and colourful clothes for the dances.

Over the last few weeks we have been having dance lessons each Thursday. They are really good fun and we are all having a good laugh. Our favorite bit is where we split up in to our small groups, of three, four and some fives. The first part of the dance is in our sports day groups we then go in to groups of four and five. The dance teacher who takes us is called Mrs Treanor. At first we were told to do actions of how Vincent Van Gogh and other famous artists put paint on their paintings, then we made up our own dance where van Gogh chopped his ear off!. It was quite funny. Up to now we are enjoying it !!!
By Jack Mc and Daniel

We always look forwards to Thursdays because of our dance lessons. We are doing our dance about artists and how they put paint on the paper,we do flicks, splodges, sprays, plops, catapult and many other moves! Mrs Treanor filmed us and it was very scary as we were at the front for the 2nd part.
The artist we are doing it about is Vincent Van Gogh. He was a very brilliant artist but he was also very strange and he chopped his ear off.
By Anneli and Thomas

We really enjoy our dance sessions with Mrs Treanor. Our favourite part was when we got to make up our own part of the dance. We have had so much fun and we can`t wait until the next session.
We also thought that when we made up the dances about Van Gogh in our groups it was really funny because every body was pretending to chop each other in half!
By Melissa P and Chloe

We enjoyed dance because it was fun and we liked the music.
The warm up was good too.The last dance was funny. When we went into the groups for the first time we didn’t have enough time to get into them but we managed (when we did the dance altogether).
Mrs Treanor was great at dancing and great at teaching us
how to dance.
Over the last couple of weeks I have really enjoyed dance, I have had a lot of fun. Unfortunately I have missed two lessons but I have still enjoyed it. My favourite bit is when we split into little groups and perform a bit of a dance to the class. Mrs Treanor has been good to us, teaching us dances and lots of other stuff!!!
By Emma & Sam

Over the last few weeks I have had lessons from Mrs Treanor, teaching me all sorts of dances which have been lots of fun. My favourite part was when Emily, me and Molly made up different ways to move to the same routine that Mrs Treanor had taught us. She also taught me how to move in SLOW MOTION!!!!!!!!!!!
