MADCOS Learning Sculpture Programme

Today, Y5 and Y6 were informed about an exciting new project - the MADCOS Learning Sculpture Project.

Here is some more information…

MADCOS are looking for two volunteers from each of their 16 schools to lead this project.

These two pupils will be expected to attend meetings at local schools, launch the competition to the rest of our school and basically, be the voice of Green Park pupils.

If you think you should represent Green Park School in the MADCOS Learning Sculpture Project, then you will need to put something in writing and submit it to me by Monday 1st December.

Think about the skills you will be excpected to show in order to lead this project effectively.

Two pupils will be chosen and their first job will be to attend the first Student Representative Meeting at Davenhill on Thursday 4th December. Their second job will be to launch the exciting competition to the school soon!

Thank you.

Homework

Your Maths homework is to be given in by next Friday. You need to do the minimum of One section - you can choose Bronze, Silver or Gold. You can of course - impress - and do some extra even if it is just part of a section.
Here’s a reminder of your Art Homework.
Homework to be in by Monday 1st December (possibly until Wednesday available)
Your task is to create a piece of Artwork for a display. Your work must have a winter or Christmas theme. It can be any size between A5 and A2. You can ask me if you need to take some paper from school.
You can have some support from home but do as much as you can by yourself.
You can use the computer, old cards, paint, collage – its up to you!!
Put your name on the back, as we will have a competition.

A belated Thank You to all of my helpers for their support last week at the Book Fair. Also a BIG THANKS to all of our families who supported us by buying books and other items - this enabled us to purchase £400’s worth of books for school. The Books are already in the classrooms and will be used shortly. ( Some already have. )

This week’s winner was nominated for their holiday reading journal - a super poem. Well Done, Jack.

Halloween comes each year
Let’s give a huge scary cheer.

Halloween comes out at night
Halloween can give you fright.

We carve a pumpkin into a face
Halloween is so ace.

We all dress up big and scary
Even mad Aunty Mary.

The children play trick or treat
Now they have loads to eat.

Bedtime is a little daunting
Let’s hope the ghost don’t go haunting.

Kingswood Meeting

Many thanks to all of the parents who were able to attend last night’s meeting - we hope you found it useful. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any other questions or concerns. A letter will be sent out shortly to confirm you would like your child / children to go on the holiday and further details will follow. The children today watched the DVD presented to you, last night. This was followed by a lengthy discussion - don’t worry we still did some work.
Things to remember - you don’t need new clothes - the older the better for most activities, however there is also a disco and night activities. Wellingtons are useful and waterproof over-trousers and jacket. A clothing list will be sent out after Christmas.
